Are You Ready to Retire - Mistakes to Avoid.
For most Federal employees, the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) is one-third of their retirement portfolio. The Thrift Savings Plan, an Annuity, and Social Security make up the components of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS).
Federal Retirement Benefits are complex. While TSP Customer Service Representatives and Human Resources can be a helpful resource, they can’t advise you about what is best for your retirement situation. They will process whatever paperwork they receive. You are responsible for your retirement and you need to make sure you understand your benefits before you retire.
The earlier you develop an understanding of your TSP benefits and other retirement income sources, the more prepared you’ll be to make informed career and life decisions.
Our 30 minute cost-free education consultation is provided to Federal Employees in order to provide a deeper understanding of your benefits as you begin to prepare for retirement. By appointment only via individual Zoom sessions.
